National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

Saturday, October 26 marks National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, but at Lincoln Hospital, every day is Prescription drug Take-Back Day. Too often, unused prescription medications end up in the wrong hands, posing a public safety risk. These drugs can lead to accidental poisoning, overdose, and even death. Most teenagers abusing prescription drugs get them from family and friends – and the home medicine cabinet.

This is a Dangerous and often tragic situation, which is why it is encouraging to see people from across the country clean out their medicine cabinets and turn in unused medications safely anonymously. Since 2017,

Lincoln Hospital has collected and shipped out over one thousand gallons of unwanted medication.

The hospital offers a permanent drop off box located near the Davenport Clinic entrance, inside the vestibule. Additionally, medication mail-back envelopes are available at our Davenport, Wilbur, and Reardan Clinic locations, offering a safe, secure, and postage paid way to dispose of unwanted medications. Please no needles, liquids, inhalers, or illegal drugs.

For more information on the Medication Mail-Back Package either visit medtakebackwashington.org or call (844) 4-TAKE-BACK.
